Our Approach to Packaging
We have kept our packaging intentionally simple.
When your Echidna jumper arrives, it is folded properly and placed directly inside a compostable mailer. There is no fancy box, no plastic sleeve and no extra layers designed purely for presentation.
We believe packaging should do one job well: protect the product in transit and then disappear responsibly.
What It Is Made From

We use Hero Packaging compostable mailers. They are designed to be home compostable, meaning they can go straight into your backyard compost system. They are durable enough to handle Australian delivery networks, yet break down naturally once composted.
Even the shipping label matters. Heaps Good industrially compostable ecolabels are the first of their kind in Australia. They are designed for industrial composting and will also decompose in home compost, taking slightly longer than the mailer itself. The same is true of the Ecotape we use when sealing is needed.
Inside, you will find a small thank you card printed on 100% post-consumer recycled 320gsm card stock.
What Is Designed to Last
There are only two items in the package that are not compostable: your jumper and the sticker (Prickle, the Echidna 😊).
The jumper features a sherpa lining made from a durable synthetic fibre. It is not compostable, and we understand that some people prefer natural alternatives. For us, the priority was performance and longevity.
This lining is designed to retain its warmth, resist pilling and hold its structure over time. It is made to be worn for years, to travel with you interstate or overseas, to handle cold mornings at home and long flights abroad without losing its comfort.
Your sticker is also made to last, whether Prickle ends up on a water bottle, guitar, toolbox or laptop.
Everything else in the package is designed to return to the earth. The two things that remain are the two things intended to stay with you.

Minimal Mindset
It can be tempting to add more layers, boxes or decorative extras to create a more elaborate packaging experience. We chose to keep it simple.
What To Do When It Arrives
Remove your jumper. Compost the mailer and label. Recycle or compost the card (it does look good on the fridge). Stick Prickle somewhere fun.
